Unhais-o-Velho

From Vidual to Unhais-o-VelhoLinear route that connects the Vidual village to Unhais-o-Velho where it joins with the GR22 – Great Route of the Portuguese Historical Villages. Leaving Vidual, the route goes south towards the reservoir of the Santa Luzia Dam, on trails and dirt roads, always with the reservoir's water mirror as background, leading to the beautiful village of Malhada do Rei. The route follows the slopes on the north side of Malhada do Rei, mostly on dirt roads and trails, to Unhais-o-Velho. The end of the route is at the end of the village, near the river beach.

From Unhais-o-Velho to VidualLinear route that connects Unhais-o-Velho to Vidual (which is the variant of the Great Route of the Schist Villages GR21.1), that joins with PR3, which allows the connection to Casal da Lapa and where, through PR8 - Schist Villages Trail - Rio Unhais Route, it is possible to access the County Seat of the municipality. Heading north, the route will cross the whole village of Unhais-o-Velho, continuing then, on dirt roads and trails, through the slopes to the beautiful village of Malhada do Rei. Now, heading south towards the reservoir of the Santa Luzia Dam, it continues on trails and dirt roads, always havingthe reservoir's water mirror as background, which will lead you to Vidual village.
