The area covered on this beautiful stretch of the GRZ has vast areas of scenic interest, displayed exuberantly here, or in the next place, or the one after that, with the River Zêzere ever present. Coming from Zaboeira, the last support area, about 3 km from here, you will be asked to travel a difficult route, with steep slopes, but you will reap a just reward when you see one of the most beautiful views of the River Zêzere. From here until the next support area, about 6 km away (see map), the route is initially flat, with some ups and downs, but not very steep, as far as the bridge over Ribeira das Trutas. This site deserves a short stop, not only for your enjoyment, but also to rest, because from there a long climb of about 250 metres over rough terrain awaits. This will take you to Trutas Village.

Turn-by-turn directions

From here until the next support area, about 6 km away (see map), the route is initially flat, with some ups and downs, but not very steep, as far as the bridge over Ribeira das Trutas. This site deserves a short stop, not only for your enjoyment, but also to rest, because from there a long climb of about 250 metres over rough terrain awaits. This will take you to Trutas Village, the last support area before embarking on the long 14-km stretch, almost always near the river, until the next rest area, situated near Macieira Town, and right on the banks of Ribeira de Codes (a tributary of the River Zêzere).
